The basketball performances in Lyon started with the clash between the women's national teams of Serbia and France, and then followed the duel that many were eagerly waiting for.

In the foreground were definitely big rivals from the NBA - Nikola Jokić and Rudy Gobert in the racket, but also the clash of MVP of the league with the best young player of the NBA, Victor Wembanyama.

Nikola Jokić was sent off for five fouls, and he ended the match scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Bogdan Bogdanović scored 15, Avramović scored 9 points, and Marinković scored 8.

In the ranks of France, Victor Wembanyama scored 14 points with 10 rebounds and 3 assists, Guerschon Yabusele scored 12 and 2 rebounds, while Frank Ntilikina scored 9 points and 3 assists, and Mathias Lessort scored 8 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist.

We all expected a spectacular game, and that's what we got and right from the start, Vincent Collet showed how dangerous France can be when he used Wembanyama to the best of his ability.

Partizan's new player Frank Ntilikina also punished Serbia with two open three-pointers, but apart from that, he was not overly dangerous in the attack.

Serbia searched for a long time for their play, they were 8 points behind at one point (21:13), and in those moments the best players in Serbia's ranks were Ognjen Dobrić and Vanja Marinković, who helped to end the first period with 23:18.

In the second quarter, we saw how Serbia was "adding gas" and somehow everything was driven by Nikola Jokić. He raised Serbia to the best of his ability, the French got into problems with personal fouls, especially Gobert and Lessort, and Pešić's chosen ones knew how to take advantage of that.

The 19:0 series broke the resistance of France and Serbia allowed them only 7 points in the second period, which we can say had the greatest influence on deciding the winner of this match.

The French came back, step by step, but they never managed to completely endanger Pešić and his crew.

The best the French could do was to reduce the difference to a single-digit deficit, but Petrushev and the others had a ready answer to something like this.

In the end, Serbia won convincingly in this preparatory match.

In the third part, the indispensable Bogdanović and Micić joined the hearty Avramović and calmly brought the match to an end.

The only thing that caused nervousness was the fifth personal foul awarded to Nikola Jokić in the very finish, but Serbia already had a comfortable advantage and won with a score of 79:67.

The next test is scheduled for Tuesday, July 16, when Serbia will play against Australia.
