As many as 56 injured in horrific accident near Umka; KCS issued a statement: Two in serious condition
This morning, 56 people injured in a horrific accident that occurred when two intercity buses, Lasta and Šević Tours, collided head-on, were admitted to the Emergency Center of the Clinical Center of Serbia.
"The KCS Emergency Center received 56 injured in a traffic accident that occurred this morning near Umka. Two patients are in serious condition, diagnostics are underway. All capacities of the Emergency Center have been put into service for emergency care of the injured," the KCS announced.
Let us recall that a horrific traffic accident occurred this morning at around 6 a.m. near Umka, in which two people were killed - a woman V.I., about 40 years old, and a man, a TENT employee.
According to an eyewitness, the bus flew past people at the station, and then a horrific collision occurred.
"It exploded as if a bomb had fallen! A bus literally flew past the station, people were standing at the station and it flew past them! This looks like a direct collision," the eyewitness said.
Allegedly, the bus traveling from Obrenovac overtook the convoy and failed to return to its lane in time. That's when a head-on collision occurred, as it slammed into Lasta's vehicle, which was traveling from Belgrade to Obrenovac.
