The father of Angelina, who was killed by K.K.: They took a child with a diagnosis to learn to shoot VIDEO
Andjelko Aćimović, the father of the girl Angelina Aćimović who died in the "Vladislav Ribnikar" elementary school massacre, pointed out that he expects the maximum sentence for the killer's parents, Miljana and Vladimir Kecmanović.
Although that is not enough, at least in some way the parents of the murdered children will have the impression that justice has been served, he pointed out while being hosted on the morning program of TV Prva.
"It won't lessen the pain or reduce the sadness, but at least when you know that the people who killed your children will have some measure of satisfaction, which is only apparent. I don't know how we'll feel afterwards. I don't know how we'll feel afterwards, certainly nothing better. However, there is fear among the parents of the murdered children. They are all at some of these trials for the first time and when they hear the defense attorney, it is difficult for them and they have doubts about whether and how they will be convicted," says Aćimović.
He notes that the defense chose a tactic that is completely incomprehensible and strange to them, because instead of admitting guilt that they really made a mistake somewhere in their upbringing process, they defend themselves with manipulations and lies.
"It is very difficult for us to listen to words being spoken in which they feel absolutely no guilt, that they did everything to ensure that the child was well-educated, which is absolutely not the case," says Andjelko.
They took him to the shooting range even though they knew he had a diagnosis
"If you put your weapon in the hands of an 11-year-old child and he kills our children with that weapon, I don't see how that is proper education," Aćimović pointed out.
"If you don't take care of his health, because it is known that in 2017 he had a diagnosis of R55 in the clinic where he is now and that you do not do the right thing in his further treatment on the recommendation of the doctor, but take it as your right to make decision on your own. And of course that leads to the child not being treated properly," he adds.
"The weapon was absolutely not adequately guarded, because if that had been the case, on May 1, that is, two days before the execution, he would have had that weapon in his hands in a second. It took him a few seconds to turn off the camera, take the weapon, ammunition and he keeps it in his room. You taught him to shoot and kill at the age of 11, not to play sports as they try to show. Because his father was not an athlete either, they just taught him killing. That is the truth, not the manipulations used by the defense," says Aćimović.
- The prosecutor requested: Maximum sentences for Kecmanović
- The end of the Kecmanović trial is scheduled for today
He also points out that he hopes that the judge and the council will take everything into account, because the evidence is inevitable.
The prosecutor's office asked for a sentence of 14 years and 11 months for Vladimir Kecmanović for the criminal offense against general safety and abuse of a minor, while for Miljana Kecmanović a proposed prison sentence of 5 years and 5 months is requested.
Defense attorney Irina Borović stated that according to the defense's position, the allegations in the indictment were not proven.
"The evidence clearly shows child neglect," their marks on ammunition, weapons available, training in the use of firearms. Neglect exists when you allow an 11-year-old, emotionally incompetent and mentally challenged child to handle a gun. Although they did not want the children to be killed, their negligence led to it," Aćimović said.
The boy spent nights preparing for the crime
"The child was brought to that state of preparing such a crime at night. He looked at the laws, checked what his role models in America were doing, in what way they did it. Those were months of preparation. And of course, it is completely clear that this is a lack of concern knowing his mental state, you take such a child to the shooting range. It is simply not healthy for a normal person," says Andjelković.
"I believe in justice, but there is doubt because of the statements that suggest that law and justice do not always go together. However, we expect that all arguments will be properly evaluated despite the manipulations and lies, and that the strictest conviction will be passed. A different outcome would certainly make us disappointed", says Aćimović for "Prva" TV.
