Today is Saint Nicholas Day. Drivers, please be careful

Tamara Ninić from the Automobile Association of Serbia (AMSS) told Tanjug that drivers should adjust their driving to the road conditions and not drive under the influence of alcohol.

Today, one of the most represented Serbian holidays is being celebrated, so an increased intensity of traffic within the cities is expected, she said, adding that in the morning hours, traffic will be slightly increased on the access roads to larger city centers.

"We expect a large number of vehicles in the evening hours and we appeal to all drivers to pay special attention today, even though the roads are apparently dry and there is no precipitation, it is the temperatures that create a bigger problem for drivers," Ninic said.

The appeal, she points out, is to adapt the driving to the road conditions because, although the temperatures are high for this time of year, in the early morning hours, fog is a frequent companion that makes driving difficult and reduces visibility.
