Military police in public places in major cities

Based on the conclusions of the National Security Council, the Serbian Armed Forces, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and security services, undertake precautionary measures and preventive actions to increase the security of citizens, facilities and institutions of the Republic of Serbia, according to the ministry's announcement.

The presence of military police patrols in the squares, parks and streets of major cities, shopping centers, railway stations, the Belgrade Fair and other busy places has also been increased.

"The safety and security of citizens is a priority, and the Serbian Armed Forces remain ready to, in accordance with the Constitution, the law and the decisions of the state leadership, engage their forces and resources and, together with other security forces, ensure the peaceful life of all citizens of the Republic of Serbia," the statement concludes.
