The Prosecutor's Office expanded the indictment against the parents of the killer boy from Ribnikar
The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade submitted to the High Court in Belgrade an extension of the indictment against Vladimir and Miljana Kecmanović, due to the suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of Neglecting and abusing a minor.
Nenad Stefanović, the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Belgrade Public Prosecutor's Office, specifies that the extension of the indictment came after the collection of all relevant evidence in the course of the criminal proceedings against the defendants, which is currently in the main trial stage before the High Court in Belgrade, against Vladimir Kecmanović for the criminal offense of Felony against general security, and against Miljana Kecmanović for the criminal offense of Unauthorized production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosive substances.
Stefanović indicates that there is a justified suspicion that in the period from April 30, 2022 to May 3, 2023, by grossly neglecting their duty of education, they abandoned their minor child, who took the life with a firearm on May 3, 2023, of a security guard at Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School and nine students of that school, as well as seriously injuring the history teacher and five other students.
"Due to the phase of the proceedings in which the public is excluded by the decision of the High Court in Belgrade, I cannot present the details of the expansion of the indictment, but I indicate that it was the incriminated behavior of the parents that resulted in this unprecedented, tragic event on May 3, 2023, in Vladisav Ribnikar Primary School", Chief Public Prosecutor of the High Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade concludes.
