The court experts who examined the members of the injured families testified about their findings, and the hearing was closed to the public due to the protection of personal data.

At the hearing, the representative of the commission of court experts who examined the minor Kecmanovic, who committed the massacre, also appeared. That commission produced a report on the boy's reasoning ability, but the representative did not testify about it because the judge requested that the content of the report be supplemented within the next 15 days by counting only medical documentation that was used.

"Novosti" has unofficially learned that the minor K. K. (15), who, as determined by the investigation, committed a terrible crime in his elementary school "Vladislav Ribnikar" in Belgrade, does not remember the events in the classroom on the fateful May 3, 2023.

A neuropsychiatric examination determined that he has amnesia for that part of his crime when he shot and killed children from his class, they said.

As it turns out, he remembers the crime from the school hall, when he killed the guard Dragan Vlahović and the students Sofija Negić, Bojana Asović and Ana Božović, whom he did not know, but after that he has a "disruption".

His amnesia ends after he jumped out of the classroom window into the yard, when he called the police and put the weapon away.

According to the newspaper's information, he was sane at the time of the crime, but this is not precisely defined due to partial amnesia. In this otherwise voluminous finding and opinion, it is also stated that he was under the negative influence of a segment of American culture in which cold-bloodedness is promoted and respected.

This expert opinion was carried out by order of the High Court in Belgrade in the civil proceedings for the compensation of non-material damages following the lawsuit of 27 members of the families killed in the massacre in "Ribnikar" against Kosta, his parents Vladimir and Miljana Kecmanović, as well as the school, which is open to the public.

At yesterday's trial in this lawsuit, the representative of the commission of experts, Aneta Lakić, who performed the neuropsychiatric expert examination of Kosta with her colleagues, explained what they took into account.

"We didn't just look at his medical documentation, we talked to Kosta for several hours for four days, did complete examination, he did various tests, we watched the footage of the crime he committed and we combined all that data and came to a conclusion about his reasoning. Therefore, it was an analysis of everything, not just written documents," said expert Aneta Lakić.

Judge Bojana Čogurić ordered that by the next hearing, scheduled for December 11, the expert report should be supplemented with the content of the medical documents they used and on the basis of which they reached conclusions about Kosta's reasoning, so that someone could make objections, if any.

Kecmanović's representative, lawyer Marina Ivelja, announced earlier that she would have some objections to the expert testimony and requested to receive the report from the first psychiatric examination of Kosta, as well as the reports of his follow-up from May 3, 2023 to August 22, 2024, when the expert opinion examination started.

At yesterday's hearing, experts psychiatrist Milena Stanković and psychologist Ana Najman were also heard, who were experts on 27 members of the families killed in "Ribnikar", but that part of the trial was closed to the public, as the proposal of the prosecutor's attorney Ognjen was accepted.

Božović said that the public should be excluded due to data protection, because the health conditions and data of those people and their children may be disclosed.

Some of the parents of the murdered, as could be seen after the trial, had a hard time at the defendants' representatives asking them about the intensity of their pain.

The first report is the most important

Aneta Lakić stated that the first psychiatric report is the most important, because it is the most informative, since Kosta was admitted and examined in a psychiatric hospital the same evening after the crime, so it is the most original data.

She also said that they cannot give the documentation from the health institution to others, because they themselves received it by order of the court, but that according to the procedure, the court must request it from the clinic and then deliver it to the parties.

The end of the trial in December?

Lawyer Ognjen Božović said that yesterday the experts clarified certain psychological and psychiatric categories and answered the questions of the defendants, who made certain objections to their findings. He stated that some part of the documentation remains to be checked and that he believes that this is the final stage of the procedure, so that if there are no unforeseen situations, the trial can be expected to be completed in December.
