Trial break called; K.K. testified; Questions are asked by parents of murdered children; Lawyer: It's hard
Boy K.K. was taken out around 8:30 a.m. from the hospital where he had been since the moment he committed the massacre at "Vladislav Ribnikar" elementary school. He was transported by ambulance, accompanied by the police, to the building of the Special Court.
The entrance to the hospital was covered with screens, and police officers covered his body.
Let us remind you that the trial of his parents, Miljana and Vladimir Kecmanović, continues today in the Special Court in Belgrade, with the interrogation of the boy K. K., who committed a mass murder on May 3, 2023, at the Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School.
In the Special Court, there was a break, after which the questioning of K.K. continued.
There is no reliable information from the courtroom, the only thing known is that the parents prepared 250 questions for K.K.
Vladimir Kecmanović was brought from the Central Prison
The boy's father was brought from the Central Prison, where he is, while the mother came accompanied by a lawyer, considering that she is coming to the hearings from home.
Miljana Kecmanović came accompanied by a lawyer
The boy's mother, Miljana Kecmanović, arrived in court accompanied by her lawyers, while the father was brought from custody, where he has been since his arrest.
Two prosecutors and the Chief Public Prosecutor at the High Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, Nenad Stefanović, will be present in front of the prosecution.
The representative of the injured party, Ognjen Božović, told journalists before the trial that the questioning of the minor K.K should continue today and expressed the hope that it would be understood how it happened on May 3, that is, what were the motives.
He assessed that this trial is heading in the direction of a guilty verdict and added that the testimony of K.K. is not decisive, but it is significant. Božović added that from the beginning he was in favor of the trial being open to the public, but also that leaking information from this procedure makes work difficult and further traumatizes the victims.
A large number of journalists in front of the Special Court
As reported by the media from the scene, a large number of journalists are in front of the Special Court. The testimony of the minor K.K. is ongoing.
Lawyer: It is difficult; I believe we are headed in the direction of a conviction
"Today, the hearing of the juvenile murderer continues, we have the opportunity to continue asking questions. We will try to understand how it happened on May 3, to consider the topics, what were the motives and what he wanted to achieve. I believe that we are moving towards a conviction, but I believe that it is significant that there is a legitimate interest of the public and I advocated the thesis that the trial should be open to the public from the first day, but considering that there is a court decision on exclusion, I believe that every leak of information must be investigated and sanctioned. Basically, it leads to an environment where we as lawyers can't comment on the headlines on the portals and newspapers. We can't talk about the details from the courtroom, and various details end up in the public space. It all makes our work more difficult and traumatizes the victims, and it has to stop somehow. I hope that the prosecution will be successful," said lawyer Ognjen Božović, Telegraf reports.
