"The conditions of military service will be different, it will not be a return to the 80s and 90s, that is impossible and unnecessary. Military service will be socially acceptable," Vucevic said in a guest appearance on TV Prva.

He repeated that the expected duration of military service is 75 days and that the idea is that in September 2025, the Army of Serbia will be ready to receive the first generation of recruits.

"I think 75 days is socially acceptable, you will not lose your life, your job, your studies, your education, your emotional life, the world will not stop in 75 days... that is the minimum for which the Serbian Army can prepare you to be a soldier" , Vucevic said.

The Prime Minister said that the duration of military service for those who opt for civilian service remains to be defined.

"It should last at least twice as long for those who do not regularly serve in the military... We cannot and will not allow an unfair treatment," said Vucevic.
