"There will be practically machines here with which you check in, there will be a barcode on the tickets, and that's how you will enter the platform," Pavićević told Tanjug.

He said that the station will officially start operating on September 29, when the first departure from Belgrade to Novi Sad is expected at 3:50 a.m.

"The last departure from Sava Square, i.e. Železnička 4, where the bus station is currently located, will be at 00:50 a.m. for Ljubljana. At the same moment when we see off the last bus, the new station will start operating," Pavićević said.

Passengers can come to the new bus station located in New Belgrade in Block 42, as explained by Pavićević, from Antifašističke borbe Street, where there are two entrances to the station.

"Upon entering the building, passengers come to the ticket office where they can buy a ticket for the desired destination. Also, in a few days ahead, we will launch online ticket sales, so that everyone will have the opportunity to buy tickets online. All those who previously bought tickets, are informed about the new location of the station," Pavićević said.

According to him, the platform from which they depart is indicated on the map, and he points out that on Sunday, when the new bus station starts operating, no major crowds or waiting in lines are expected.

Tickets will also be available for purchase online

General Director of the Belgrade Bus Station (BAS), Boban Kovačević, said that everything is ready for the relocation of the main bus station to New Belgrade and announced that tickets will be able to be purchased online from now on, as well as that tokens will be abolished.

Kovačević told RTS that moving the bus station in one day is logistically very demanding and that, after today's ceremonial opening, the first bus from the new station will leave for Novi Sad on Sunday.

"To avoid confusion, the station cannot wait for the opening, it has to be shut down at one point and started at another. Everyone who travels on September 29 will arrive at the new location in New Belgrade," Kovačević said.

He added that the new bus station has 65 platforms, as well as special places for tourist, intercity and suburban transport.

"Tourist buses will come there, and by that we mean not only going to the sea, but also excursions. Buses for student excursions will leave from there. It happened that we were stuck in traffic because the students of some school were going on an excursion," said Kovačević.

He also stated that comfortable platforms for tourist buses have been built and that life in the city will continue smoothly in the future.

"Apart from the classic information desks, many will not know which way to go, so we have provided people who will guide them. New habits need to be created," said the director of BAS.

Kovačević also announced the possibility of buying tickets online, while counters for traditional purchases will also be open 24 hours a day. He expressed his belief that the new station will come to life and that it will enter technologically in today's time so that, as he said, it would rightfully carry the epithet of a leader.

When asked if there are enough city transport lines that will connect the new station, Kovačević said that this is the Belgrade bus station, and that flyers with basic information are being distributed.

"We have informed people to a good extent, we will continue with that. It is important that the Institute of the Faculty of Traffic will conduct a survey in which citizens will give suggestions, which line should be reinforced or which is missing," said Kovačević.

He added that the "South" bus stop will not start operating yet.

''It should contribute to better traffic. All those going to Niš should stop 200 meters below the Autokomanda interchange," Kovačević said.
