Scary testimony from the "Ribnikar" trial: "Dad, he had eyes like the devil"

The father of the wounded boy described the tragedy his son went through, who is still in a bad condition, he told me "Dad, he had eyes like the devil."

In the High Court in Belgrade today, a civil proceeding was held against Vladimir and Miljana Kecmanović, the father and mother of the killer boy, as well as the Elementary School "Vladislav Ribnikar" in Vračar, where on May 3 last year, the killer boy killed nine of his peers and security guard Dragan Vlahović.

This civil action against the killer boy, his parents and the school "Vladislav Ribnikar" in Vracar was filed by the injured boy (15) who was seriously wounded in the massacre.

At today's hearing, the parents of the injured boy told about the drama they went through that day, as well as afterwards.

My son called me that morning at 8:45 on the phone and said: "Dad, I've been hit, come get me!" That's how I found out something was going on, but I didn't know it was nearly as bad. When I arrived, I asked where my child was. I went to the Clinical Center, and then I went to Tiršova, I found where my child is," says the father of the wounded boy over the phone and adds:

"I found my son alive. He was in the room with a friend, but I didn't talk to him then because the inspectors were around him. It's important that he's alive, I thought."

As the boy's father then explained, his son had one wound in his thigh. He was in the hospital for three days and then he was released. I talked to him about that day and he said, "Dad, he had red eyes, like the devil! I've never seen anything like that!"

''He told me that he took two girlfriends with him who would surely be shot," says the wounded boy's father poignantly and adds:

"He jumped over his bloody and dead comrades to survive and escape."

As he says, his son has been in a bad mental state ever since.

"He didn't want to talk to us for a long time. He didn't even want to say a word to his friends. Sometimes we literally take his words out to find out something. In a word, he's not well. He also has pain in his thigh and around the wound, especially when the weather changes. That's when he used to say: "Here I am, as if I am grandma, the time will change again..." That's how he lives.

I would like to add that "from the beginning, my son has been going to group and individual psychotherapy, he takes sleeping pills, but he doesn't sleep. When he hears a noise, a firecracker, he jumps and goes completely crazy. He's not in his right mind, we all calm him down, it's very hard to watch your own child in that state," he says, adding:

"His entire childhood was disturbed. When he rides the bus and, for example, the driver suddenly brakes, he remembers calling me or my wife to ask what he should do, whether he should get off the bus." He is in such a state, unfortunately.

By the way, this is one of the legal proceedings initiated against the parents of the killer boy by the parents of wounded children from ''Vladislav Ribnikar'' Primary School.
