The trial of the parents of the killer boy from Ribnikar continues; Miljana Kecmanović arrived in court

Family members of the murdered, who have the status of victims in this proceeding, arrived at the Palace of Justice, the boy's mother, Miljana Kecmanović, came to court freely.

The evidentiary proceedings should continue today, when a DNA expert and a witness from the shooting range will testify.

"Last time, two witnesses were questioned, and they were police officers who, after the crime at the school, searched the apartment of the defendants, Miljana and Vladimir Kecmanović, where the juvenile murderer also lived. They described everything they found when entering the apartment, starting with where the safe was located, how it was protected, where the weapons were located and so on," reminds the Kurir source and adds that today, September 9, a DNA expert will testify, as well as a witness from the shooting range, and the next hearing is scheduled for four days later.

"I think we are getting closer to resolving this case," said last time the lawyer representing the families of the injured, Zora Dobričanin Nikodinović.

At the previously held hearing, which was normally closed to the public, the maternal grandmother of the killer boy was invited, among other things, but she exercised her legal right and refused to testify against her daughter Miljana Kecmanović, who was accused because her DNA was found on one shell casings in the classroom where her son committed the massacre.

On the other hand, boy's father, Vladimir Kecmanović, was accused of committing a crime - a serious crime against general security, given that he took the 13-year-old child, who was 13 years old at the time of the crime, to the shooting range and taught him to shoot, as well as that he did not adequately store the weapons he owned in the house.

The accused Kecmanović has been in custody since May 3 last year, and both parents of the killer boy have denied guilt for the crimes they are accused of from the very beginning.

Let's recall, on May 3, 2023, K.K. killed nine of his peers and a security guard, when he fired two of his father's guns that he had taken two days earlier.

On the fateful day, he put them in his backpack, went to school and during the first lesson killed 10 people and wounded five more children, as well as a history teacher.

The boy was not 14 years old at the time of the crime, therefore he is not criminally responsible.
