Ministry of Interior warned the citizens of Serbia PHOTO
The Ministry of the Interior warned today that high temperatures increase the risk of fire and warned citizens to follow the instructions for prevention and protection of their homes.
As stated on the Instagram of the Ministry of Interior of Serbia, it is necessary to regularly check electrical installations and avoid overloading.
"In the event of a fire, stay calm and call the fire department immediately on 193. Put out small fires safely if you can, but never risk your safety. If you are in a tall building, do not use the elevator during a fire because of the danger of smoke and gases. When fire breaks in one room, get out quickly and close the door to prevent the spread of fire and inform the neighbors! If the staircase is full of smoke, stay in the apartment and protect yourself with wet cloths," the post said.
It is added that in the event of a fire, it is necessary to turn off the electricity in your apartment and wait for the instructions of the firefighters, who will assess when it is safe to turn off the electricity in the entire building, in order to avoid risks in the elevator and other parts of the building.
"Statistics show that this year there were 1,942 fires in residential buildings in Serbia. It is important to be aware of the risks and preventive measures we can take to protect our homes," the MIA emphasized in the announcement.
