Teofil Pančić passed away
Journalist and writer Teofil Pančić died at the age of 60, Belgrade media reports.

Pančić was a journalist, a political commentator for Radio Free Europe and a columnist for the Belgrade weekly "Vreme", which informed the public about his death.
He was born in Skopje in 1965. As the child of a military person, he spent part of his childhood in Pirot, and then moved to Zagreb, the city that formed him.
Since the early nineties, he has been living between Belgrade and Novi Sad. He lived in Zemun.
He was a member of the Independent Association of Journalists of Vojvodina (NDNV).
Teofil Pančić published his critical and analytical texts in numerous newspapers from Serbia and former Yugoslavia, as well as in publications from the USA, Russia and several European countries.
He was one of the greatest intellectuals from our region.
He is the author of more than 20 books, mainly collections of essays, among which "Urban Bushmen", "Guardians of the Bengal Fire", "Personal Signs" and the short novel "39 Days of June" stand out.
Teofil Pančić is the winner of numerous national and regional awards, such as "Jug Grizelj", "Knight of the Call", "Srdjan Aleksić" Award... Most of the recognitions that Teofil Pančić received are awarded for courage, journalistic or human.
As stated by the weekly "Vreme", the place and time of Teofil Pančić's funeral will be announced later.
