Confession of the mother of the Zagreb attacker: We didn't sleep at night in fear

As reported by the Croatian portal 24sata.hr, the mother and other members of the household did not sleep at night because of fear, and they tried to help him.

"I begged the doctor not to let him out," said the young man's mother, explaining that he has an emotionally unstable personality, along with two additional diagnoses.

She also said that he had hurt himself with a knife before. She pointed out that she knows what happened at the Zagreb school, but that she has no more information.

"I was told that the attacker was my son. This morning, dad took him to the day hospital at nine o'clock, he started going to those day hospitals again. He was in a psychiatric hospital a couple of times. A month and a half ago, he locked me and my mother in the apartment, he took our mobile phones and keys and ended up in Jankomir again. I begged the doctor not to let him go, because he is not for release," she said.

"He has an emotionally unstable personality, in addition to that he has two additional diagnoses and he cut himself and everything. The doctor let us take care of him. We slept in fear at night, we did everything we could to save that child. He apparently left the day hospital and took the knife and did what he did. I don't know why he did it, he went to that school five years ago. I heard that he also stabbed himself," she added.
