Turudić confirmed at the press conference that Prime Minister Andrej Plenković called him early this morning and asked if it was true that Beroš had been arrested, which he confirmed.

When asked how Plenković reacted, Turudić said that he did not know, considering that it was a telephone conversation.

Turudić also said that the European Prosecutor's Office in Croatia acted in this case, as well as the DORH - Chief State Prosecutor of Croatia, that is, Uskok. He believes that DORH is responsible for this case since it is about funds from the state budget.

He added that the conflict of jurisdiction over this case between DORH and EPPO must be provoked and resolved immediately. He believes that the EPPO - the independent public prosecution office of the EU, was disloyal because it launched an investigation into this case without notifying the DORH.

"The EPPO did not act in accordance with the regulation, I don't know when they started the investigation, we had no information about it," said Turudić.

Those arrested, he added, will be brought before an investigating judge, and then a decision will be made about pretrial detention. He is confident that his decision on the jurisdiction of the body in this case will be reached very soon.

He added that he did not know when the EPPO opened an investigation in the same case. As for Uskok, it lasts for several weeks.

"I will not contact the EPPO, if they provoke a conflict of jurisdiction, then the jurisdiction will be decided. I will decide on that, that is, the competent national body DORH," said Turudić.

Turudić also told the journalists that Beroš is not charged with the crime of accepting and giving bribes, but for trading in influence.

Moreover, while Turudić confirmed the arrest of three people, the EPPO previously announced that the investigation is being conducted against eight people.
