A former military policeman treated everyone in the bar and committed a massacre

Retired military policeman K.P. (51) killed five people in the Home for the Elderly and Infirm in Mažuranić Street in Daruvar, shortly after 10 o'clock in the morning today, and injured several more.

One of the victims was his mother. As mojportal.hr unofficially learns, he was allegedly sitting in front of a store in Donji Daruvar drinking beer, just before the bloody campaign, as he had been almost every day for the last 10 years.

At one point he came behind the firehouse and asked the janitor to drive him and another friend into town. The janitor told him that he couldn't because he had work to do.

"I thought he needed to go to an ATM or something similar. It never occurred to me that he intends to do something like that. And then I hear this. I don't know what to tell you, I'm in shock," the janitor told us with a trembling voice.

According to the information currently available to myportal, the murderer's mother has been housed in the "Vianey" Home for the Elderly and Infirm in Mažuranić Street in Daruvar for 10 years. Unofficially, it is learned that the killer first came to the Daruvar coffee bar, where he ordered himself a drink and treated the guests who were in the cafe at that moment.

They say he was completely calm and said: "I'm going to do something". He came to the home, entered and started shooting. He killed his mother, three other users and a caregiver, and injured several people.

After that, he calmly went out into the street and returned to the nearby cafe "Daruvar" where, apparently, he decided to wait for the police, who quickly appeared and arrested him.

The owner of the home, Ana Ivandekić, in a state of complete shock, was taken to the Pakrac general hospital, and inconsolable relatives of the victims gathered in front of the home.

The head of the Pakrac hospital told 24h that seven patients were admitted to her hospital. Of these, five people have serious injuries.

Emergency services found four dead and four wounded people on the spot, said Nenad Mrzlečki, director of the Institute for Emergency Medicine.

"Three people were rushed to the hospital in Pakrac, and one person in Virovitica. In such situations, we always act in this way so that not to burden only one health institution," explained Mrzlečki and added that there are allegedly minor injuries, but also noted that all information from the field should be taken with a grain of salt.

"Our teams are still on the ground and the priority is to provide all of them with the necessary help, and only after that we will know the exact data on the number of victims," ​​said the director of the emergency services.
