An agreement on peaceful disassociation will be on the table by the end of June
President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, said that by the end of June, Republika Srpska will offer Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) an agreement on peaceful disassociation, containing an analytical part about endangering Dayton Peace Agreement.
He recalled that the Government of Republika Srpska made a decision at yesterday's session on the appointment of a Working Group for drafting an agreement on peaceful disassociation and pointed out that Srpska has the right to this initiative, which is based on the Constitution and the Dayton Peace Agreement.
"It is part of the continuity of obligations and we said that within 30 days we will do it, and we will do it," Dodik told reporters in Pale last night.
Dodik pointed out that by the end of June, an analysis of the collapse of the Dayton Peace Agreement, which "remained only in segments", will be made.
"Many things are not constitutional in this country and we will say that we cannot stay in that community where we previously brought our territory, our jurisdiction and independence. We have the right to it, regardless of what the Americans invent and think that we are afraid of them. They are not a harmless opponent, they know how to do things, but that does not mean that they are right," emphasized the President of Republika Srpska, Srna reported.
Dodik reminded that Republika Srpska entered BiH as an independent territory that had all the characteristics of a state.
"These principles from Geneva and New York said that the Republika Srpska is a factor and a subject and a party to the Dayton Peace Agreement. The Republika Srpska is retained as a party that can, together with the FBiH, even change the Dayton Agreement, and no other structure can do that," said Dodik.
He says that for everything that would be done in BiH, an agreement between Republika Srpska and FBiH was necessary, whether to unite or disassociate.
"We reckon that the FBiH will wait for that, that they will act negatively, but we understand why, because they want the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH to create a parliament and an assembly that decides, and that is a sum of parliaments and it is not an ordinary parliament, and from the Council of Ministers they are trying to create a BiH government. Neither one nor the other is true," Dodik stressed.
If someone thought that Bosnia and Herzegovina should be a serious country, Dodik pointed out, then they would not have created a Parliamentary Assembly.
"We continuously hold meetings, draw conclusions, work deliberately to accumulate that dissatisfaction and through an analytical approach it can be seen that we have been warning about it for a decade, and that no one will consider it realistically," concluded Dodik.
