Six children had Croatian passports, and as it was determined, the documents in question had most likely expired.

As Blic unofficially learns, the children were found in the family home, and they were allegedly cared for by a woman, her son and another person. Allegedly, the son worked as a court guard, and 31 children were imprisoned in one house.

Several independent sources of "Blic", who are not connected, confirmed that the police and the prosecutor's office in Brčko are investigating all possible scenarios, and one of them is going in the direction of investigating a family clan from that territory that was previously arrested for a criminal offense.

"Allegedly, as is suspected, they took care of children from the family whose parents voluntarily gave them up for care, and some even paid for it. They then, as is suspected, trained those children to beg and prepared them to go to one of the European countries. Hence the invalid Croatian passports," says the source.

A famous clan of beggars is behind child trafficking?

According to unofficial information, there are indications that allegedly behind everything is a family clan well known to the investigative authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia for forcing children to beg.

A man who introduced himself as the father of two children appeared in front of the police station in Brčko. He said he allegedly paid the suspects to look after his children. He is from Banja Luka, and as he said, his wife lives in Zagreb with six children.

"He stated that he gave the arrested woman money to take care of his children. When asked by a journalist why he gave the children to be "guarded" in Brčko, he said: 'You can't ask me that,'" says the source.

31 children were found, the youngest is a few months old

Let us remind you that in a house in the suburbs of Brčko yesterday, the police, together with the competent services, found 31 children aged from a few months to 12 years.

Most of the found children had Croatian citizenship, and some of them had expired personal documents.

Five other people have been detained in connection with this case, and their role is still being investigated.

According to unofficial information, this case became known when a twelve-year-old girl, who was also "detained" in the house, went out accompanied by two children on the street. As we learn, she also had a passport with her. Read more about how the house of horrors in Brčko was discovered.
