The court of Bosnia and Herzegovina found Dodik guilty of "disobeying the decision" of the so-called High Representative Christian Schmidt, and he was sentenced to one year in prison and banned from political activity for six years.

It is a first-instance verdict for which there is a possibility of appeal.

Last week, during the presentation of the closing arguments, the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina requested that "Dodik be punished with a prison sentence that is closer to the maximum than the minimum stipulated for this criminal offense and receive a 10-year ban on political work".

The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina requested the same sentence for the acting director of the "Official Gazette" Miloš Lukić, but he was acquitted today.

The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina accused Lukić of facilitating the publication of Dodik's decrees in the Official Gazette of the RS, "Klix.ba" reports.

Dodik himself said that he would not attend the sentencing, and his defense attorneys also pointed out the same.

President of the RS attends together with Željka Cvijanović a support rally in Banja Luka, where he should address the audience.
