Miloš Vučević submitted his irrevocable resignation

"I tried to understand the responsibility of that job and that position, aware that there are numerous challenges for Serbia, challenges in the region, a complicated geopolitical situation, but I also saw myself as part of the policy of continuity from the first government of Aleksandar Vučić to the last government of Mrs. Brnabić," Vucevic said.

"I am proud of everything we have done as a government in the past 9 months. We have achieved significant results in the field of economy," said Vučević.

"From that moment on, it was as if Serbia was stuck in that accident. We saw political abuses in that accident and that someone was capitalizing on the loss of human life," he says.

"What leaves a deep consequence for our society is a deep division. I'm free to say that everything was thought up from abroad, I'm absolutely sure of that. They attacked education with the aim of destroying our country. Everything after what happened, the roadblocks of intersections, roads, bridges, misunderstanding each other... No matter how much we tried to calm the passion, something always happened according to some dark scenario some invisible hand always created a new incident and further raised tensions in society," he said.

"This morning when I woke up, I saw this news from Novi Sad, that last night there was a physical confrontation where one of the students, a young woman, Ana, was injured, and that the conflict started over the fact that someone was again coming to the SNS party premises, someone thought it was necessary to defend them. I wish Ana a speedy recovery, she was given all the medical help, she decided to continue treatment at home, the attack on her is unacceptable and deserves condemnation. I expect the attackers to be arrested," he said.

"I can never understand attacks on citizens who think differently, on students, professors, insulting and humiliating parents who declare that they want their child to go to school. They will regret it, they will be ashamed for insulting their friend's parent from school".

Irrevocable resignation

"This policy to which I belong, the party I lead, must show the highest degree of responsibility, must bring new legalities, show that it is the most responsible, objectively. Therefore, after this event in Novi Sad, my irrevocable decision is to resign from the position of the Prime Minister of Serbia'', Vučević said.

"I had a long meeting with President Vučić, he accepted my decision, arguments. I think that this shows the responsibility of those who were elected to be responsible, so that it does not spill over onto the streets, further divisions in society, but that politicians accept responsibility and at least in this way they bring about or show that they are ready to bring about the calming of tensions. That everyone returns to the conversation, to the search for a solution that is best for Serbia, and not for some foreign country or foreign interests. It is unacceptable that someone else attacks, it is unacceptable to go to someone else's party premises".

"We have to save Serbia as a country. Without Serbia, we are like a tree without roots, a house without a host," said Vučević.
