Peter Sørensen "appointed"
EU foreign ministers confirmed the appointment of Peter Sørensen as the new envoy for the dialogue between the so-called Kosovo and Serbia.

As stated, the decision was previously confirmed by the ambassadors of the EU member states.
Sørensen will take office on February 1, as the outgoing envoy Miroslav Lajčak's term expires on January 31.
Sørensen received his bachelor's and master's degrees in law from Aarhus University in Denmark.
He started his career as a lawyer and was also an officer in the Danish army.
He was an adviser to the Special Envoy of the United Nations for the Balkans, head of the Department for Political Affairs in the OSCE Mission in Croatia, and legal adviser to the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina Carl Bildt, as well as to the European Community Monitoring Mission in Sarajevo.
Working in Geneva, he oversaw a wide range of policy issues, including human rights, technology, research, development, health, humanitarian aid, asylum, migration and the economy.
From 2002 to 2006, Sørensen held the position of Deputy Head of UNMIK Pillar IV (Reconstruction and Development) and Director of the European Office.
