Vučić: Let us know where you gather, so that the state provides protection; I hope the student will be well
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, took to Instagram to talk about the current events in the country, the tragedy in Novi Sad and student protests.
"Two and a half months have passed since the terrible tragedy in Novi Sad. The state did its job, the Prosecutor's Office conducted an investigation, the police collected information, brought indictments, and now it is up to the courts to make a decision," said Vučić.
He added that there were abuses.
He referred to today's events at the protests when a girl and an elderly woman were injured.
"All persons for each incident must be responsible. I will choose every word that I will utter in the coming period in order to influence the reduction of tensions. I am asking all others, and those who organize illegal gatherings, to at least informally let us know where they will organize them so that we can provide them with police protection from both cars and buses," he said.
"He asked political actors to think, because, as he said, stability, peace and people's lives have no alternative, and Serbia must protect itself from any destabilization," said the President of Serbia.
He expressed hope that the student and the injured woman will be fine.
