Vučić: Serbia is ready to be the meeting place between Putin and Trump

He started his speech by talking about the delivery of gas through Azerbaijan.

"You can always count on such friends," said Vučić at the beginning, referring to the president of Azerbaijan.

He then talked about the announcements related to the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, when they will talk about the conditions for ending the war in Ukraine.

"Serbia is interested in being a meeting place between the presidents of the Russian Federation and the USA. Serbia is outside of both blocs, an independent country, fully prepared to guarantee the security of both presidents. In our country, Putin is very popular. I think it is a place that would suit both presidents," said Vučić.

"What is coming to us will be the biggest changes since the Second World War and so on. Now a new wave is coming that goes in the complete opposite direction. They destroyed a good part of our media. They destroyed those who said that there was no genocide. I want to tell you how that machinery worked and now it's melting. The consequences will be positive, but all kinds of things will come out," he explained.

Debacle of the opposition at today's protest?

"They gathered more than 12,000 people even today, and that is a huge number of people. That is to be respected. They expressed their views and that's it. People like to throw numbers at each other," he clarified.

"It is important that we see their intention and that they present the so-called Vojvodina platform. We as a state will oppose it. We will fight to bring our truth and everything that Serbia brings to everyone in Vojvodina and we will win," he added.

Vučić also exposed the professors who support the protests.

"They are important now, the whole planet is theirs, young people, rebels. I am not afraid to say to your face, what are you doing gentlemen? You have huge incomes. You sit at home and receive huge money. You have no right to what you are doing now. I understand these kids, and I don't understand the professors. I don't understand those in the theaters who wave with red hands, and in the end they will fill those halls with people of opposing political views. Audience left theaters when they did that".

Vučić also drew attention to the problems in Kosovo and Metohija and added that the Serbian Orthodox New Year will be celebrated in that part of Serbia as well, no matter what pressure they exert.

"It is important to see how the country will move forward. The country has great ambitions, the desire to reach those goals that it could not reach in the previous 50 years. We want to completely change the face of Serbia in the next two years," he added.

President of Serbia also announced a new increase in salaries and pensions, but as he added, we must progress further.
