Vučić met with the director of the Matica Srpska Library PHOTO
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, spoke today with the representatives of Matica Srpska and the manager of the Matica Srpska Library, Selimir Radulović.
The topic of discussion was the needs of Matica Srpska and the Library, as well as the improvement of infrastructural capacities, the enrichment of the library fund and the modernization of digital resources, since, as he stated, the library alone has over four million books and other publications.
Vučić stated that he had a cordial meeting with the representatives of the Matica Srpska Library and Matica Srpska, institutions which, as he stated, play a key role in preserving the Serbian language, culture and heritage and whose tireless work makes an immeasurable contribution to education, research and promotion of Serbian literature and art.
"I was especially pleased with the book "Serbian Chess Lexicon", which I received as a gift and which not only represents a significant contribution to chess literature, but is also a unique anthology in which, in addition to important chess players from our region, you can find famous names in world chess who were in Serbia," wrote Vučić on the Instagram account @budućnostsrbijeav.
Vučić pointed out the importance of Matica Srpska and the Library in the preservation and promotion of Serbian cultural heritage and promised that the state will continue to support their activities and initiatives aimed at improving cultural life in our country.
