The OSCE reacted because of the so-called VIK Kosovo and its decisions: We are concerned
The OSCE Mission in Pristina expressed concern that the Central Election Commission of Pristina Provisional Institutions did not certify the list of the Serb List for the February 9 elections and stressed that the process should be free from politics.
"The certification process is a procedural matter that supports democratic elections and should be free from political considerations," stated the post of the OSCE Mission in Pristina on Facebook.
The OSCE called on the CEC to support the integrity of the electoral process in AP KiM and ensure that the next steps are inclusive and in accordance with democratic principles.
Previously, the EU Office in Pristina pointed out that the certification process should be based on legal standards and procedures, not on political considerations.
The US Embassy in Pristina also expressed concern about the decision of the CEC in Pristina and emphasized that the CEC's actions must be strictly limited to legal procedures.
The Central Election Commission of the Pristina Provisional Institutions decided yesterday not to certify the Serbian List for the February 9 parliamentary elections, although the Office for Registration and Accreditation of Political Entities recommended that the Serbian List can participate in the elections.
The Serbian List was given 48 hours to appeal this decision.
