Osmani: The so-called Kosovo is ready for the Council of Europe

According to her, the formation of the Community of Serbian Municipalities is an obligation that Pristina will fulfill after being admitted to that organization.

After the conference organized by the University of Pristina and the University of Arkansas, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the NATO intervention in the so-called Kosovo, Osmani said that the so-called Kosovo showed its "commitment" to the establishment of the CSM, through the parliamentary ratification of the Brussels Agreement from 2013 as well as the Basic Agreement from February 2023.

"Let's not forget that the full commitment to the establishment of the Community of Municipalities with a Serbian majority was given in 2013 through ratification, but it was repeated in the last agreement, the Basic Agreement of February 27, 2023. This is not a commitment from March 2024, but the Basic Agreement from 2023, which was accepted by the Kosovo delegation and which, as you all know, includes the obligation to establish CSM", said Osmani in Pristina and added that the formation of the CSM is not required from the so-called of Kosovo before admission to the Council of Europe.

She said that she requested that in the letter, which was written together with Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the President of the Assembly, the so-called Kosova Glauk Konjufca sent to the rapporteur for the so-called Kosovo in the Council of Europe Dora Bakojani, included a part where it is emphasized that every obligation of the so-called Kosovo is being implemented in accordance with the Constitution, laws and judgments of the Constitutional Court of the so-called Kosovo.

Osmani added that she expects the report on the so-called Kosovo to be accepted at today's meeting of the Committee for Political Affairs and Democracy of the Council of Europe.

"The report is already positive, the content of the report already recommends that Kosovo become a full member of the Council of Europe with equal rights. What will happen today is the procedure, it is an extraordinary meeting of the committee that was invited to approve this report and then it goes to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe," said Osmani.
