Vučić: "All the students' requests have been resolved; I will personally pardon them for rampage"
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said today that all the citizens arrested during the protest after the fall of the canopy in Novi Sad were released, as well as that all the demands of the students blocking the faculties were resolved.
At the beginning of his address, the President showed the EXPO flag.
"I believe that by coming to our House, it will be further stimulated to enormous efforts and work, and something that is an additional stimulus to the efforts that should lead us to success," said Vučić in his address to the citizens from the Presidency.
He referred to the noise heard in the background of his address.
"It's a noise of somewhere around 600 of them. Even if it's 6,000, I respect and value them immensely. You know that I held conferences for the media here when there were many, many thousands of them and when they said that by Easter, by St. George's Day... they will oust me... I thought they were apolitical because that's what they told me," said Vučić.
He points out that it is not a matter of faculty blockades, but politics.
"They said that they are only interested in justice, but I have wonderful news to tell them tonight. You should be aware that it is not a question of faculty blockades, but politics. They want to show I was right," he said.
"Documentation for public insight"
Speaking about the students' second request, Vučić said that he had brought documentation about the canopy that collapsed in Novi Sad, which he showed in several folders.
"All the documentation we obtained about the reconstruction of the railway station will be made available to the public, I asked Prime Minister Vučević to publish all the documents on his website within the next 24 hours," said Vučić.

I myself asked for all the documentation from the Ministry of Construction and from Public Company "Railway and Infrastructure". I decided to bring that documentation and make it available to the public and submit it to students, just to authorize someone...
There are 8 folders here, a total of 195 different documents. You see how extensive and seriously prepared the documentation is," said Vučić.
He asked Prime Minister Vučević to publish all 195 documents on the website starting tomorrow morning. He says that the students' request is important because of the truth and facts, and that's why it was fulfilled.
"All the documentation we have obtained will be made available to the entire public from 9-10 in the morning," he said.
All those arrested were released
He points out that everyone who was arrested during the protest due to the fall of the canopy in Novi Sad has been released.
"As for the unfounded reports, that is a question for the prosecution, although I am sure that there are no unfounded reports, but here is one more thing I can say, I have never given a pardon. Will they be convicted for their rampage in Novi Sad or Belgrade or anywhere, I will personally make the decision to pardon them," said Vučić.
He pointed out that all the demands of the students were resolved in this way and added that the person who hit four members of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra was also arrested.
"All the requests have been met. We expect those who made the requests to say that their requests have been met and to return to classes. And do we really expect that? What do you think? Of course not. Of course not, but it will be completely clear to the entire public in Serbia and to all students who want to learn what it is all about. It will be completely clear to all citizens of Serbia that there were never any demands at all, but that it was pure and dry politics," Vučić said.
Increase in allowances for university expenses
Speaking about the student protest and the demands of the students, the President of Serbia said that the Government of Serbia will immediately increase grants by 20 percent for the material costs of universities and faculties.
He says that it was important for him to consider the demands of the students. Even the rectors did not know exactly the demands, although they supported them, except for the blockades, he claims.
"We have made a decision to increase the Government's grants by 20% for the material costs of universities and colleges in Serbia. That is a significant increase, more than 22 or 23 million euros. The Government will make that decision immediately," he said.
Speaking about the hybrid war against Serbia, he says that they are producing various pressure groups, primarily some political representatives with significant support from outside, and they are helped in this by special media pressure groups, also financed from abroad, said Vučić.
When it comes to the opposition's request for the dismissal of the Government and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ana Brnabić, Vučić asked Ana Brnabić to put it on the agenda, and he asked the President of SNS, Miloš Vučević, that the progressives provide a quorum for that vote.
"Of course they do it for the sake of reality TV. They know they don't have a majority. It's clear to them. And it's clear to them that they won't replace the Speaker of the Parliament and they won't replace the Government... But I'm asking you to let them have that too and that you provide a quorum. That's my request, Miloš, for the party you lead, to provide them with a quorum and for that, to come and show their face one more time," said Vučić.
