Vučić from Brussels: I had an honest but not easy conversation; Serbia has nothing to do with the explosion
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, spoke from Brussels, where he is on a one-day visit, during which he met with several officials of the European Union.
"We had numerous talks in Brussels today. The conversation with Maja Kallas was open, not easy. She insisted on the introduction of sanctions on Russia, the continuation of dialogue and compromise with Pristina, the accelerated resolution of the Banjska case. In accordance with the politics and interests of Serbia, I offered my response," he said.
"I had a good conversation with O'Brian, I hope for American support for the opening of cluster 3. We talked about the last incident on the Ibar-Lepenac water canal, I repeated to them that there is no involvement of Belgrade, but we are conducting our investigation and I hope we will reach certain conclusions," continued Vučić.
"After that, I have a dinner which Kurti would also attend, you can tell me how it will look like. After that to the airport, then directly to Zurich," added President of Serbia.
"Gërvalla spoke tensely here. Three people were the key people to allow them to do that. They gave them the opportunity to speak, without us responding to them in the European Parliament. She fired bazookas as she thought, but I don't think she got a big response. Their non paper is shameful and not well worded. I know when something is difficult, and this was stupidly worded, in the style of "we hate them, and that's why they are guilty". Of course, but people in the world are more serious than that... As soon as I see the evidence, we will go public."
"I can guarantee the citizens that Belgrade and the authorities in Serbia have nothing to do with it," repeated Vučić.
"Today, during one of the breaks, I called Milica Škorić and apologized that some madman hit her and stole her phone, it's their habit to physically threaten women, that's their main political motto. I saw that Bagarić was taken into custody, the police and the prosecution will do it, but what else can you expect from a bully."
"It is important for us to fulfill the conditions that have been set, but if we impose sanctions on Russia, all doors would be open to us. And if we recognize the independence of Kosovo, then anything is possible, but we are not interested. I will not change the policy we adopted, I don't really care so far, we have led the country in a good way. Everyone here knows that Serbia is the second fastest growing economy in Europe. EXPO is a special honor for me, the flag that I had with me in the UN is framed and stands as a ceremonial flag in the Presidency, so that it will be remembered that we defeated them for the first time in history, against the most powerful countries in the world. And so I will take the EXPO flag, so when difficult days come, I will take it in my hands and say: Move on", Vucic said.
Earlier today, Vučić met with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas at the European External Action Service, which is their first official meeting since Kallas took office on December 1, 2024.
