In North Mitrovica, a large number of members of the special units of so-called Kosovo Police are also present this morning, patrolling the streets of the city with long barrels.

They are visible in groups at almost every intersection in the city, and there are also those who patrol the promenade itself, reports the reporter of Kosovo Online.

Patrols consist of three to five police officers, armed with long barrels. During yesterday, there was no street or entrance where members of the special police units were not present.

After yesterday's visit by Prime Minister of Pristina's temporary institutions Albin Kurti and Minister Xhelal Sveçla to Zubin Potok due to the explosion on the Ibar-Lepenac water canal, in the afternoon the columns of special units went from South to North Mitrovica, where they were deployed at several points in the city.

That there are never more police forces in the north of Kosovo was confirmed earlier today by the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković, who said that yesterday Pristina was accumulating police forces, bringing more than 10 police buses in full military gear to South Mitrovica, from where they were transferred to the north.

According to him, this incident is against the interests of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian people in AP KiM, stating that the damaged canal also supplies water for Serbs in the north of the Province.

"This kind of incident, which would lead to some kind of humanitarian disaster, is against the interests of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, because, among other things, the water canal that was damaged in the village of Varage also brings water to the Serbs who live in the north Kosovo and Metohija. Therefore, it is absolutely not in the interest of Belgrade and the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija," said Petković for Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).

He reminded that Belgrade invited KFOR and EULEX to carry out an independent investigation, stressing that if it is established that anyone, who is part of official Belgrade, participated, he will be held accountable, and that he expects the same from Pristina.

As he stated, "we have been building the regional water supply for years and invested a lot of money in it".

"For years, we fought for an agreement on energy and in the end succeeded in achieving Elektrosever, which now has a kind of autonomy in the supply of electricity to the inhabitants of the north of Kosovo and Metohija. We fought for our people to have water and electricity, and what happened is the opposite of that. So, when you put things in order, you will see that it absolutely does not suit official Belgrade," Petković pointed out.

He assessed that a kind of additional occupation of the north of AP KiM by the prime minister of the temporary institutions of Pristina, Albin Kurti, and the regime in Pristina is at work.

"You have a kind of illegal fortification of the north of Kosovo and Metohija. There is hardly a day that (Minister of Internal Affairs of the Pristina Provisional Institutions Xhelal) Sveçla or Albin Kurti do not lay some kind of foundation stone or work on the construction of new police stations in the north of Kosovo and Metohija. So, three new police stations in Leposavic, one new police station in Zubin Potok, four substations, in Zvečan they use the municipal building for the substation," said Petković and specified that it is about "facilities for the Albanian Kosovo police".

He added that in Banjska they also use spaces for the so-called the Kosovo police, while in Kosovska Mitrovica they use the space where there used to be a military overhaul for the same purpose.

"Let's not talk about the fact that they built four illegal bases in the municipalities of Zubin Potok and Leposavic. They are building the police base at that notorious place near the Bistrica bridge, where six Serbs were shot. There is no point where they did not set up the illegal Kosovo police, the Albanian Kosovo police, which according to the Brussels agreement, has nothing to do in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, especially not with long barrels," said Petković.

He pointed out that the incident in the village of Varage gave Kurti an alibi to continue with new attacks on Serbs in AP KiM and with the policy of persecuting the Serbian people, Petković concluded.

An explosion occurred in the village of Varage near Zubin Potok on Friday evening, which damaged the Ibar-Lepenac water canal, which cut off the water supply, and Pristina accused Belgrade of the attack.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said yesterday that Serbia unequivocally denies any involvement in the attack on the Ibar-Lepenac water canal and called for a thorough, impartial and transparent investigation into this act of sabotage.
