Vučić after the meeting with Fico: Serbia was shocked

President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said that today he had the extraordinary honor of speaking with Fico, one of the most important world leaders.

"I have the right to say that, since I know how difficult it is to lead an independent policy. For me, it is a pleasure that we talked about all strategic issues," said Vučić.

As he said, they talked about improving our economic and energy cooperation.

"I tried to learn new things from him, as I once learned how to use vouchers for vacations in Serbia," said the Serbian President.

He emphasized that he will soon present new ideas to the public and added that the citizens of Serbia will be satisfied with that.

"We talked about all important issues and the geopolitical situation. We jointly believe that peace in Ukraine and Russia is necessary. This is something that is extremely important, that some decisions that have been made, which only fuel the war conflict, without bringing anything good".

He also pointed out that Serbia will continue to pursue the policy adopted by the National Security Council two and a half years ago.

Assassination attempt on Fico

President of Serbia also referred to the assassination of Robert Fico and said that Serbia was shocked.

"We understood it well as a consequence of spreading hatred against Robert. He is a brave man, that is rare in politics. He endured everything, and performs his duty in a miraculous way, with enormous energy, as he always did," Vučić said.

As he said, Serbia immediately condemned that criminal act.

"We didn't just condemn it, we're sure that it's completely clear that it was a hate campaign directed against Robert behind it. This is happening in other countries as well, luckily there were no serious consequences like in Slovakia," said Aleksandar Vučić.

Vučić emphasized once again that we want peace, and that we are proud of that word.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, after the meeting with the President of Serbia, greeted President Vučić and, as he said, his Serbian brothers, in Serbian.

"It's a pity that we don't meet more often. The relations between our countries are relations of mutual trust. We can rely on each other, and I would like to say clearly that we respect the territorial integrity of Serbia, and as far as Kosovo is concerned, we will never let you down. All the best is clear on that issue, and we declare that position regardless of whether we are part of the ruling coalition, for a long time, since the party of which I am the president was formed," Fico said.

He especially congratulated President Vučić on the great economic growth.

Fico said that they agreed to go to Moscow together in May, because they share the same opinion.

"I can't forget the attention you pay to Slovaks living in Serbia. These are people who love the country they live in, and they try to preserve their traditions," added Fico.

Journalist's question

Answering questions from journalists, Aleksandar Vučić spoke about the withdrawal of the University Law.

"To you, dear Miloš, let me tell you that it was about the decision to withdraw the Law on the University. That's why I'm desperate, and we'll talk about it. I know what pressure and blackmail are, and I know that it's often impossible to withstand them. But if you start with giving in, then it's better not to lead the country, so let them destroy it once more, instead of giving in to blackmail of any kind," said Vučić.
