Ministry of the Interior: We issue warning, we will not tolerate it
The Ministry of Internal Affairs sent a statement in which it states that it warns the participants of the protest gatherings that the disturbance of public order and peace will not be tolerated.
Also, as stated, the MIA will not tolerate endangering the security of the country and state institutions, as well as attacks on the police.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia warns participants of protest gatherings that disturbing public order and peace, endangering the security of the country and state institutions, as well as attacks on the police will not be tolerated. Anyone who attacks the police will be detained and criminal charges will be filed for assaulting an official during performance of official duty", stated the Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić, as stated in the press release.
We also note that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has urgently convened a session of the National Security Council for today.
Let us remind you that due to the attempt to interfere with the officials during the removal of the rails from the old tram bridge, there was a scuffle between supporters of the opposition and members of the MIA, who were securing the works.
Also, riots were caused both yesterday and today in front of the prosecutor's office in Novi Sad.
Just to reiterate that after the terrible tragedy that befell Serbia when 15 people died in the fall of the canopy at the train station in Novi Sad, the opposition decided to organize protests and call for violence on the streets of that city.
That protest was marked by savagery, in the true sense of the word, because the Town Hall was ruined, windows and doors were broken, torches were thrown, the building, which is a cultural asset, was pelted with paint and feces...
In addition, the organizers of the protest from the ranks of the opposition attacked individually the members of the police who were performing their duty that evening and were maximally restrained.
Later, the opposition decided to "move" the protest to Belgrade, which was a real debacle because, according to media estimates, around 2,000 people gathered then.
The citizens have made it clear what they think about the politicization of the tragedy, but this is not enough for the opposition representatives, so orchestrated attempts at destabilization continue every day in Novi Sad.
