"History always shows that dialogue is the key to solving most problems. Conflicts arise where dialogue is absent, and this also applies to Kosovo," Barduani told RTK.

He added that the solution to security challenges is not military, but political, because dialogue is the key to solving most issues.

Barduani stated that the situation in Kosovo and Metohija is calm, but still fragile, and that many unilateral moves undertaken by, as he said, certain parties do not help in stabilization.

"That's why we carefully monitor every relevant security development," the KFOR commander pointed out.

When it comes to the bridge on the Ibar in Kosovska Mitrovica, the opening of which was announced by Pristina, Barduani stated that KFOR's position is clear and that any decision regarding the bridge must be made through dialogue and in coordination with the international community.

"KFOR will maintain a permanent presence on the bridge and will continue with regular patrols in the surrounding areas. In relation to the bridge, as well as some other unresolved issues, it is important that all actors refrain from unilateral moves that can create tensions. Therefore, we will remain vigilant and in close coordination with all partners in order to prevent escalation," Barduani stressed.

He added that his priority is to ensure that KFOR remains well positioned in order to continue contributing to the security and stability of all communities in Kosovo and Metohija.

"In addition to operational readiness, strong cooperation and regular communication with our local, regional and international partners are important, as they are key to stability in the region," said Barduani.
