The session of the Council for Strategic Cooperation of Serbia and Hungary today in Budapest attended by Vučić
The second session of the Council for Strategic Cooperation between Serbia and Hungary will be held today in Budapest, in which the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, will participate.
Before the session, Vučić and Orbán will hold a separate meeting, and the members of the governments of the two countries, that is, the working groups, will have bilateral meetings.
Members of the governments of the two countries will participate in the session of the Council, and opening speeches will be given by Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán and President Vućić, who will open the session itself.
After the session, six documents will be signed, as well as a joint political declaration between Serbia and Hungary.
The Serbian delegation, led by President Vučić, consists of the Minister of Finance Siniša Mali, the Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacić, the Minister of Environmental Protection Irena Vujović, the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of monitoring the state of projects within the several ministries and special Government organizations in coordination with the President of the Republic Aleksandar Vulin, Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Aleksandar Martinović.
The delegation includes the Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedović Handanović, Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirović, Minister of Justice Maja Popović, Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue Tomislav Žigmanov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djurić, Minister for EU Integration Tanja Miščević, Minister of Education Slavica Djukić Dejanović.
The Serbian delegation includes the Minister of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Nemanja Starović, the Minister of Family Care and Demography Milica Djurdjević Stamenkovski, the Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković, the Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Jelena Begović, the Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristić, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Hungary Aleksandra Djurović, State Secretary in the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Mihailo Mišić. The delegation includes MP and president of the Union of Vojvodina Hungarians Balint Pastor, head of the Directorate for Defense Technologies of the Material Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defense Slavko Rakić, president of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Hungary Marko Mladenović, MP and vice-president of the Union of Vojvodina Hungarians Boris Bajić.
Contracts will be signed between Serbia and Hungary on legal assistance in civil matters, Program of cooperation in the field of culture for the period 2024-2027, Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of Serbia and the Ministry of Culture and Innovation of Hungary, Extension of the work plan of Hungarian exemplars from the field of European integration.
Also the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary on development cooperation.
The joint political declaration between Serbia and Hungary will be signed by Vučić and Orbán after the session of the Council for Strategic Cooperation.
After signing the documents, they will hold a joint press conference. This is the second session of the Strategic Council for Cooperation between Serbia and Hungary, and the first session attended by the presidents, prime ministers and members of the two governments was held in June 2023 in Palić.
Agreements were then signed for cooperation in the field of customs, exchange of information, development of road infrastructure, defense and internal affairs.
Agreements were also signed on the construction of an oil pipeline that will connect the refinery in Novi Sad with Hungary, as well as an agreement on the establishment of a joint venture between Srbijagas and the Hungarian electricity company MVM.
After that session, it was said that the relations between the two countries are at a historical high and that they can count on each other.
