Vucevic also said that he has no doubt that the minister is not personally guilty of anything that happened in Novi Sad on November 1, when 14 people died and three were injured at the railway station.

"I think Goran Vesić's decision is the act of a serious man who is aware that when you perform the most important state functions, you also have the burden of responsibility. I have no doubt that he is subjectively not guilty of anything that happened on November 1 in Novi Sad," Vučević said.

The Prime Minister stated that Vesić is objectively responsible because he is the minister of that department.

"On the other hand, and we had several phone conversations in the past few days, I will accept his resignation with gratitude for everything he did during the mandate of this and the previous government. I can't say that he did his job badly, but in politics there is responsibility for things for which you are not personally to blame. I understood his message and resignation," said Vucevic.

He pointed out that it would be illogical to end everything with Goran Vesić's resignation, as well as that he expects the minister's resignation not to be the only one.

"We will give another 24 hours to see if those who were in charge of certain issues, and regarding the responsibility we are talking about, will decide to speak. I expect resignations in the coming days," said Vucevic.

The Prime Minister said that he does not understand the protests that are taking place, stating that they are "morally disgusting".

"As for the protests, I will not go into the fact that someone did not allow the families to take over the bodies of the dead, nor to lay the dead to rest, but started to organize protests. It is morally disgusting. Everyone has the right to organize protests, but the fact that someone will break, tear, paint, break in has nothing to do with empathy and pain for the victims," said Vucevic.

According to him, in this way no sympathy is shown for the family members of the deceased. Vucevic pointed out that the opposition wants to take over the government due to the accident, and it has not yet been determined who is responsible.

He said he understood the anxiety, anger and resignation of a part of the public, but pointed out that violence shows no respect for the victims and nothing can be achieved.

He pointed out that the opposition always wants to profit from something bad.

"We will fight politically to save the country, and those responsible must be held accountable and will be held accountable," Vučević stressed.

He said that the opposition will try to instrumentalize people and warned that whoever commits criminal acts will be held accountable.

"Those who are possibly responsible for what happened in Novi Sad will also respond in the same way. I don't see what kind of message of compassion you are expressing by throwing paint on public objects. Where is the empathy? It is a message for those who are unmistakably present whenever a misfortune happen, they are the first to take advantage. They cannot be silent for 48 hours, to allow people to bury their loved ones. There they are on the drums of evil and destruction," said the prime minister.

He stated that he expects the police, the prosecutor's office and the courts to clearly determine who is responsible.

"And the responsible ones will answer, but we have to determine what happened first. There will also be political responsibilities, and I expect that Vesić's resignation will not be the only one," Vučević pointed out.
