Vučić: "Today, all of Serbia stands still; Political and criminal responsibility will be determined"
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, addressed the public and stated that a great tragedy has befallen Serbia today.
"On the main railway station in Novi Sad, the canopy collapsed on a large number of people. According to the latest information, and we hope that this will be the final number - 14 people have died, of which we have not yet been able to find out the identity of five people. Eight people are citizen of Serbia, one is from Macedonia," said Vučić.
"On behalf of all the citizens of our country, I want to express my condolences to the families and all the relatives. Tonight it is difficult to say anything rational, but even in such moments we must all unite and help the families of the victims, to do everything in our power to make the damage as small as possible," said the President of Serbia.

"Today, in this great tragedy, we managed to show the heart and soul of the people. The whole of Serbia stopped, the whole of Serbia was speechless," said Vučić.
"I will not deal with those who would hide from responsibility under the auspices of the government. I ask the High Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad that the persons responsible for what happened be prosecuted and severely punished. I ask for both political and criminal responsibility," said Vučić.
The President of Serbia stated that those whose duty was infrastructure, railways, traffic infrastructure and the safety of our people are responsible.
