Vučić from Tivat: We are building good relations, but we won't be a punching bag; Serbia didn't do you wrong
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, spoke from Tivat, where he is attending the lunch of the leaders of the participants of the Brdo-Brioni Process Summit.
"I thank President of Montenegro for his hospitality here in Tivat. I had the opportunity to talk to all the guests with the exception of Mrs. Osmani," Vučić began.
"Cooperation in the region is important for us, it is important to talk both when we are in agreement on a certain issue and when we are not," he said.
He said that it is still not certain who will be the next host of the summit, but he thanked the hosts and organizers of this year's summit. Vučić then referred to the attacks that Serbia is suffering, and he himself is one of political actors in Montenegro.
"I talked to Mr. Milatović and he, as a host, asked me to return the favor when he was a guest in Belgrade, to come, and this time I left some politicians, like Djukanović, in the past," he said.
He mentioned that the only important thing for Serbia is to have the respect that Montenegro has in Serbia, noting that there are many people whose only policy is to hate Serbia and Serbian people.
"Did we take 14 percent of the territory of Montenegro, or did we vote for it? We respect all norms of international law, but we are constantly accused of territorial claims. We are not interested in that. You separated yourself in 2006, we said it's fine. Your free will. We didn't just expect you to recognize Kosovo's independence. Now you want to turn to the future. Will you say that to the Ukrainians in Dubrovnik tomorrow? Considering that you are ready to defend Ukraine to the last Ukrainian, and yet you are all angry with the Serbs. Does the Serbian mafia kill in Montenegro, or is it the other way around? Kavači and Škaljari are villages from here, and they are not local communities in Belgrade. You can hound me all you want, but you can't stop the facts'', he added.
He then announced a visit to the Serbian people in Montenegro.
"I want to inform you that I will soon visit the Serbs in the territory of Montenegro, I hope you will pass on your enthusiasm as you were delighted by Milanović's visit."
"We will continue to build good relations, but we will not be a punching bag that you can hit as you like without anyone answering you," said Vučić.
"We are not incapable and we are not afraid of your lies, that is my answer to those who are chasing me."
"We will never demolish Montenegro, we will love and respect its citizens, but we will never allow anyone to rule over us," said Vučić.
"We are not toothless. That is my answer to those media who are running the chase. And I will not deal with these politicians from the past, I will honor the request of President Milatović," he said.
When asked about accusations that Serbia interfered in Montenegrin elections, he said: "We are not interested in the elections in Montenegro, make any coalitions you want, but do not interfere with Serbia. Serbia did not make a mistake about Montenegro, neither strategically nor tactically, it was just the other way around."
He then referred to the provocations he hears every day from Montenegro.
"I would like to ask you once again to send less Skaljari and Kavac mongers, we would have 120 dead in Belgrade if there was less drug business. Let them work in Montenegro, where they originated, and not in Belgrade."
However, the provocations of the media did not stop, so one journalist asked Vučić a question, mentioning the "Republic of Kosovo."
"There is no Republic of Kosovo. We have established that you do not support Resolution 1244, and that you support the splitting of Serbia. There will be no change of attitude. We are not in NATO, like you, we are a free and libertarian country. Serbia will preserve its neutrality," answered Vucic.
"It's important to talk both when we agree and when we don't"
Aleksandar Vučić also published on his Instagram profile a photo from the lunch of the leaders of the participants of the Brdo-Brioni Process Summit.
"Cooperation in the region is important for us, it is important to talk both when we agree on certain issues and when we do not. I am convinced that we will continue the Brdo-Brioni Process as it has been going on so far. Many thanks to our hosts in Montenegro for their hospitality, and I believe that in the future we will have the opportunity to repay that hospitality," he wrote.
