Vučić spoke after the ceremony in Geneva: "CERN is the best institution in Europe" PHOTO/VIDEO
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić spoke after the ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of the European Organization for Nuclear Research CERN.
Vučić spoke from Geneva.
"Everything that is learned here is used for various purposes in further industrialization. Cancer treatment is improved through them, much more precise. 23 of our people are constantly here, and a large number of people from the Institute of Physics come and give their knowledge, and also learn. The key problem is that we have to change ourselves faster, just as Europe has to change faster. We are all spoiled in Europe," said Vučić.
"CERN is the best institution in Europe and we are one of 24 members. I believe that with additional investment in the people who are here, we will be able to contribute to the further development of Serbia," added Vučić and emphasized that we need more nuclear engineers.
"We are losing the race with other parts of the world and we will have to change ourselves in order to keep up with the world," added Vučić.
"I need to go to Montenegro, to Dubrovnik. Erdogan needs to come. Before that, I need to go to Hamburg, then Berlin. Then, representatives of Somalia are coming... I don't even know how I will manage all this," said Vučić about the upcoming important meetings.
"Our country is not in a bad state, but we will have to change a lot when it comes to education," he added.
Vučić also spoke about the dialogue with Pristina
"We are not planning to go to war. I am afraid that we did not have a dialogue because one side, which is not Serbian, did not want it. I believe that opportunities will change in the future and that some people will understand that they can benefit from dialogue. Threats are not serious politics," said Vučić.
He added that he will soon go to visit our people in Kosovo and Metohija.
"We don't have a problem when Albanians protest, we try to listen to all their objections. I went to Preševo, Bujanovac and saw that both Serbian and Albanian villages were equally paved," added Vučić.
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, addressed everyone at the CERN anniversary ceremony earlier.
He said he has good speech writers, but he won't just read his speech.
We won't have enough electricity if we don't get nuclear model reactors, and we are running out of nuclear physicists and engineers, he said.
"I'm begging you to see what we can do so that we can survive," said Vučić. He says we will double the money we allocate to CERN.
"It will still be insignificant compared to what Ursula promised you, but if everyone else contributed as much, it wouldn't be so insignificant," said Vučić.
The welcome speech at the ceremony was given by the Director General of CERN.
Among the speakers are the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the Prime Minister of Latvia Evika Silina, the President of Slovakia Peter Pellegrini, the President of the Swiss Confederation Viola Amherd, the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, the President of Italy Sergio Mattarella, Princess Astrid of Belgium and the Chairman of the CERN Council Eliezer Rabinovich.
