Vučić: Military service is a big deal for Serbia; Mali: This is a key step in strengthening security PHOTO
President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, attended, at the invitation of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the session of the Government and the second extraordinary session of the Republic Headquarters for Emergency Situations.
"I thanked the ministers who, at today's session of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, supported the Proposal for a conclusion on the formation of a working group to consider activities and measures aimed at activating the obligation to serve in the military.
I pointed out that this is a big thing for Serbia, not only for the defense of the country, but also because it will strengthen young people's sense of responsibility and seriousness, which they will need for everything they will encounter in civilian life. The cities and municipalities where the barracks are located will also benefit from mandatory military service, because those areas will rise economically and progress and develop even faster.
I informed the Government of Serbia about yesterday's meeting in Brussels, as well as about the conversations I had regarding the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, and especially about the upcoming meetings I will have with world leaders, where the main topic will be precisely the position of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, as and the measures we take in that sense. A special item on the agenda was energy, with an emphasis on the projects, potentials and plans of Serbia in all its aspects.
I asked the members of the Government to coordinate all activities with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance, with the aim of greater efficiency and a comprehensive approach to one of the most important issues of the future of our country. Of course, we also discussed the threat of floods, we analyzed the situation and the measures we can take in this regard in order to preserve the lives and property of our citizens and reduce potential damage to a minimum.
I especially emphasized that no one should underestimate the degree of danger of this situation, appealing to all members of the Government to make extensive and quick preparations in order to protect the population," Vučić announced on Instagram.
Mali: "The Serbian Army has always been a symbol of courage, strength and loyalty"
After the session, Sinisa Mali announced himself on the social network Instagram.
"The introduction of mandatory military service is a key step in strengthening the security of our country and training the young generations. This move is not only an investment in the army, but also in the future of our youth, providing them with discipline and a sense of responsibility towards their homeland.
The Serbian Army has always been a symbol of courage, strength and loyalty, and now an even greater number of young people will have the opportunity to become part of this honorable calling. Together we are building a safe and strong Serbia," he wrote.
