It is planned that Vučić will meet separately with the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi, Office for Media Relations of the President announced.

Vučić said last night that the meeting organized by von der Leyen will be important and that the Growth Agenda will be discussed, as well as the reforms necessary on the way to the single European market, which means, as he noted, the single Balkan market before that.

"Of course, problems and everything else will be discussed, but I believe that it will be an important meeting in which the President of the European Commission will indicate to us that Marta Kos will lead the part of the EC in charge of EU enlargement and that we will have opportunity to get to know their new agenda," Vučić told TV Pink.

He expressed his belief that it will be a fair conversation and noted that it always depends on Pristina and Sarajevo, but that he does not think that there can be any problem at the meeting.

European Commission spokeswoman Ana Pisonero said yesterday that von der Leyen is organizing a working lunch with the leaders of the Western Balkans in order to review the relations and cooperation between the EU and the Western Balkans in the context of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.

Pisonero said that the European Commission is currently completing its assessment of the reform agendas submitted by the partners from the Western Balkans. After finishing the assessments, she added, the Commission will consult the EU member states during the upcoming Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) committee, and in case of a positive opinion, the Commission will proceed to the adoption and approval of the reform agendas and, before the first payments, conclude contracts on benefits and loans with each of the users.

In addition to the President of Serbia, the Prime Ministers of Albania, North Macedonia and Montenegro Edi Rama, Hristijan Mickoski and Milojko Spajić, the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borjana Kristo and the Prime Minister of Pristina's temporary institutions, Albin Kurti, were invited to the working lunch, according to Pisonero.

All partners from the Western Balkans had the obligation to submit to Brussels the reform agendas, foreseen by the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, which gives the region, including Serbia, access to additional financial aid of six billion euros in the period from 2024 to 2027.

The disbursement of funds depends on the successful implementation of the reforms specified in the reform agenda of each beneficiary country.

The growth plan for the Western Balkans is based on four pillars, the aim of which is to strengthen the economic integration of partners from the Western Balkans with the EU single market, encourage economic integration within the region through a common regional market, accelerate fundamental reforms and increase financial assistance to support reforms through the Reform Instrument and growth for the Western Balkans.
