French President and Vučić in Novi Sad; They will be speaking soon

The two leaders first visited the new permanent exhibition in the Matica Srpska Gallery, which exhibits the national art of Serbia from the 18th to the 20th century.

Macron got acquainted with the most valuable works of the permanent exhibition of this important cultural institution for the Serbian people at the Matica Srpska Gallery in Novi Sad.

He, accompanied by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, toured the new part of the permanent exhibition, where the national art of Serbia from the 18th to the 20th century is exhibited.

The director of Matica srpska Gallery, Tijana Palkovljević Bugarski, presented the guests with the most important works of art exhibited in the Gallery.

"In order to understand the future, we have to understand our past. We started first by collecting portraits of famous Serbs, as well as works of art that represent the history of our city," she said during the tour.

She presented some of the oldest paintings in the collection from the 18th century.

Macron and Vučić had the opportunity to see valuable works such as the painting of Miloš Obrenović riding a horse, Dositej Obradović, the famous painting by Sava Šumanović - Sailor on the pier, the painting by Paja Jovanović - Proclamation of Dušan's Code...

"Soon we expect to set up an exhibition inspired by French art," announced Palkovljević Bugarski and told Macron that Matica Srpska is a great place to promote French culture.

The new permanent exhibition in the Matica Srpska Gallery, which exhibits the national art of Serbia from the 18th to the 20th century, will be open to citizens from October this year.

In March of this year, the exhibition "Inspired by France" was staged in Matica srpska.

President of France is on a two-day visit to Serbia at the invitation of President Vučić, and Macron's visit to Matica Srpska is a continuation of the development of centuries-old French-Serbian cultural cooperation.

Vučić and Macron are going to the Forum on Youth and Artificial Intelligence, at the company "InGrid-Sćneider Electric LLC" in Novi Sad, after which they will address the public.
