Macron arrives in Serbia today: A very important visit VIDEO

The French President is arriving in Serbia, in a situation where France is facing a very unenviable internal political situation after the extraordinary elections, which analysts consider as another proof of the importance of this visit for both countries.

According to the agenda of the visit, as stated by the Office for Media Relations of the President of the Republic, the plane with the French President is expected to land at Nikola Tesla Airport on Thursday, August 29 at around 6:05 p.m., where a reception will be held.

This will be followed by a welcoming ceremony in front of the "Serbia" Palace with military honors from 6:30 p.m.

The meeting between the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, will take place at 6:45 p.m.

After that, from 7:40 p.m., the ceremony of exchanging signed bilateral documents will follow in the presence of the two presidents in the hall of Yugoslavia in the "Serbia" Palace.

The two presidents will address the media at 7:45 p.m., when statements for the media are planned.

On the second day of the visit, August 30, Macron will go to Novi Sad, where at 10:30 a.m. he will visit the Matica Srpska Gallery and tour the new installations.

From 11:15 a.m., President Vučić and President Macron are expected to address the Forum on Youth and Artificial Intelligence at the company "InGrid – Schneider Electric LLC" in Novi Sad.

According to the program of the second day of the visit, from 3:30 p.m. there will be a ceremony of unveiling the plaque on the occasion of the completion of works on the modernization of the "Nikola Tesla" Airport in Belgrade and an address by the two presidents.

Around 3:50 p.m., there will be a send-off for the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.

The President of France is arriving on a two-day official visit to Serbia, with the aim of further deepening bilateral relations and cooperation in the fields of economy, health, energy and culture.

The two leaders will also discuss issues related to artificial intelligence (AI), as Serbia will take over the presidency of the Global Partnership for Artificial Intelligence, and France is hosting the Artificial Intelligence Summit to be held in Paris in July 2025.

Moreover, Macron will use the visit to reaffirm France's support for Serbia's European path.

Macron is coming to Serbia at the invitation of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, and as Tanjug was told, dialogue and cooperation between France and Serbia continued to strengthen, which was once again demonstrated by President Vučić's official visit to France in April 2024.

Let us recall that the last time Vučić and Macron met during the Olympic Games in Paris, where Vučić attended a reception for world leaders in the Elysée Palace.
