Večernje Novosti writes that one of the proofs of this is the gathering recently held in Bujanovac where several hundred Albanians gathered.

According to reports, all that was heard and seen was confirmation that the real reason for the gathering was purely political and that the real organizer did not get on the stage but "was conducted from Pristina".

"With the support of his political allies, on several occasions, he pushed the issue of the 'Preševo Valley' to the Brussels negotiating table, drawing a false parallel between the position of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija and the Albanians in the south of central Serbia. It was also one of his favorite topics whenever he was pressed to explain why the ZSO had not yet been formed", according to "Novosti".

As stated, the opening of the issue of the position of Albanians in Serbia suits Kurti for at least two reasons - he is approaching an election campaign in which he has nothing concrete to offer voters and is trying to present Belgrade and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in the eyes of the international community as "bad guys" and how would reduce the negotiating potential of the Serbian side.

The paper also reports that a declaration was read at the meeting in Bujanovac, demanding that the authorities in Belgrade implement and respect the three signed agreements between the Government of Serbia and representatives of the Albanians, with an emphasis on the Seven-Point Plan from 2013 on the integration of Albanians.

According to the director of the Coordinating Body for Preševo, Bujanovac, and Medveđa Nenad Mitrović, the plan envisaged talks with Albanian representatives from Preševo and Bujanovac.

"The talks were interrupted by the then Member of Parliament Riza Halimi in the same year. Despite several unsuccessful calls to continue the dialogue, the Albanians did not respond through the Coordination Body, but in the meantime, an outpatient maternity hospital was built in Preševo and the building of the Department of the Faculty of Economics from Subotica in Bujanovac in 2015, which were their demands from the 7-point Plan," Mitrović said.
