Huge airport scandal over Vjosa; He pointed the gun at his forehead
The head of security for the President of the Assembly of North Macedonia, Afrim Gashi, pointed a gun at the forehead of a police officer who asked Vjosa Osmani to open her luggage at the airport in Skopje.
The incident happened in front of witnesses - passengers and employees at the airport, and police patrols on duty also responded, Macedonian 24 Info reports.
On her return from Paris, Osmani landed at the airport in Skopje, from where she was supposed to continue her journey to Pristina.
In accordance with airport procedures, she was asked to open the suitcases. However, she refused and, according to the Macedonian media, brazenly and inappropriately addressed the security of the airport.
After she refused to open the suitcases, she called the president of the Macedonian Parliament, Afrim Gashi, from whom she asked for help to pass without checking the luggage, writes Kosovo Online.
Gashi agreed to help her and sent members of his security to the airport headed by the boss, Sabedin Sinani. Sinani and several other members of Gashi's security guard, in front of a dozen passengers, rudely and insultingly addressed the airport security and asked to let Osmani go through control, the media reported.
However, after the employees refused to let Osmani go, Sinani took out a gun and pointed it at the forehead of a police officer at the airport, writes 24 info.
Soon, several armed police units arrived in front of the airport's VIP entrance and pointed their weapons at Sinani. After a short drama, the incident ended, with no injuries.
Skopje Airport: We are obliged to check all passengers
The airport in Skopje announced regarding this incident that they have a legal obligation to perform a security check of all passengers, luggage and cargo on flights from Skopje International Airport and Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport, including passengers traveling through the VIP lounge.
Although they did not mention Osmani by name in the response, the airport said that "the security department of TAV Macedonia, within its competences, carried out a standard security check of the mentioned passenger as well as his luggage at the checkpoint", reports Reporteri.net.
Late last night, the MSP in Pristina also reacted, requesting official clarifications from the embassy of North Macedonia regarding the incident at the Skopje airport.
Then, North Macedonian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that in this case the airport security services acted in accordance with their authority and that a standard check of her luggage was carried out at the checkpoint of the VIP lounge.
