Djilas' calendar of lies: This is how his government brought Rio Tinto to Serbia, granting them licenses
President of the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP), Dragan Djilas, has repeatedly stated that it is not true that the Democratic Party issued a license to Rio Tinto.
Yesterday, Speaker of the Parliament, Ana Brnabić, pointed out the untruths that Djilas is stating, showing that it was the Democratic Party, when it was in power, that gave all the permits to Rio Tinto.
Company Rio Tinto founded its branch in Serbia in 2001, and in 2004 it received a permit for research in Loznica.
The Mining Law was changed in 2006 so that only a company that has an exploration permit can obtain a mining permit (Rio Tinto).
During all that time, the Democratic Party with Boris Tadić as president and Dragan Djilas as director of the People's Office of the President was ruling the state.
In 2008, the Democratic Party approved additional exploration for Rio Tinto, and in 2012, the company received a resolution for larger-scale wells.
It is more than obvious that the Democratic Party and Dragan Djilas brought Rio Tinto to Serbia, granting them everything they wanted.
