The election silence begins at midnight
Pre-election silence before the local elections begins at midnight and will last until the polls close on June 2 at 8:00 p.m.
During that period, the media and public gatherings are prohibited from presenting candidates and party programs, inviting voters to vote, and publishing evaluations of election results.
At the end of April, President of the Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, announced elections for June 2 in 66 local self-government units, on the same day when the elections for councilors of the Belgrade City Assembly, as well as for city municipalities, are held.
Elections for town councilors are held in Valjevo, Vršac, Zrenjanin, Jagodina, Kikinda, Niš, Novi Sad, Pančevo, Požarevac, Sombor, Sremska Mitrovica, Subotica, Užice and Čačak.
There will also be voting for 52 municipal assemblies: Ada, Aleksinac, Alibunar, Apatin, Arilje, Bač, Backa Palanka, Backa Topola, Backi Petrovac, Bela Crkva, Beočin, Bečej, Boljevac, Bosilegrad, Bujanovac, Vrbas, Vrnjačka Banja, Gornji Milanovac, Žabalj, Zitište, Ivanjica, Indjija, Irig, Kanjiža, Kovačica, Kovin, Mali Idjoš, Nova Varoš, Nova Crnja, Novi Bečej, Novi Kneževac, Opovo, Odžaci, Pećinci, Plandište, Preševo, Raška, Ruma, Svilajnac, Svrljig, Senta , Sjenica, Srbobran, Sremski Karlovci, Stara Pazova, Surdulica, Temerin, Titel, Tutin, Čajetina, Čoka and Šid.
On the same day, councilors will be elected in 17 Belgrade municipalities - Čukarica, Novi Beograd, Palilula, Rakovica, Savski venac, Stari grad, Voždovac, Vračar, Zemun, Zvezdara, Barajevo, Grocka, Lazarevac, Mladenovac, Obrenovac, Sopot, Surčin.
Elections will be held in Niš for councilors of five municipalities in that city - Medijana, Palilula, Crveni krst, Pantelej and Niška banja, and in Požarevac for the city municipality of Kostolac.
