Main Board of the Serbian Progressive Party held: "We're going to new elections" PHOTO
A session of the City Committee of the Serbian Progressive Party was held.
Ana Brnabić addressed those present.
"Thank you for coming to this important gathering, to this working meeting. We are going to the elections again, to new elections, to win more convincingly than in December 2023. We worked hard in the last campaign. Regardless of what they said that Belgrade is theirs and that we will never have it again, in the last election we had about 20,000 more votes. And that's how they won, with 20,000 more people voting for us. Their only goal is to throw Vučić out of the race somehow, that's why let's get over those 20,000 votes, so we can win more convincingly," said Prime Minister Brnabić, addressing the audience.
Mali: To the victory!
Aleksandar Šapić also addressed those present.
"These are the first elections to be repeated in this way. These elections are not about communal issues, these will be elections of values, where they will choose between two views on the state, the people, the Serbian nation, the economy. I said that a month and a half ago, that Belgrade must have a Serbian government, a Serbian mayor. Whenever we had a Yugoslav government or another, it was good for everyone else, worst for the Serbs. When we had a Serbian government, it was good for others too," said Šapić. He said that current circumstances in the world are very specific.
"If we allow ourselves to lose Belgrade, the question is what will happen to Serbia tomorrow. We, on the other hand, have people who have no dilemma at all to solve the problems that have been bothering us for decades, from Kosovo, through our brothers in the Republika Srpska. That's right, Kosovo is Serbia. They (the opposition) would recognize Kosovo, renounce Republika Srpska, declare themselves a genocidal nation, and say we are going to Europe. Which Europe? We are Europe. This Europe we are in, we defended it with our blood. My and your grandfathers gave their blood for this Europe. No German can be a greater European than any of us," noted Šapić.
He pointed out that he hopes that Serbia will be part of the European Union. "That's why we have to enter this campaign more united than ever, this issue is bigger than the city government. And, as we said when they tried to attack the institutions of the state, to destroy the state, after the elections, it is less important here who will manage the city "The question here is whether we are going to defend the country. It is important that we live in an orderly society, not in anarchy, it is important that we do our best and win," Šapić pointed out.
