Serbian delegation voted against draft opinion on membership of so-called Kosovo in Council of Europe
Delegation of Serbian Assembly in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe announced that Serbian delegation in the Committee for Legal Affairs and Human Rights and the Committee for Equality and Non-Discrimination voted against the draft opinion.
"Delegation of the National Assembly to PSSE said that the members of our delegation in the Committee, Aleksandar Mirković, Dubravka Filipovski and the member of the Committee from Cyprus, Konstantinos Efstatiou, voted against," according to a statement from the Assembly of Serbia.
The head of the Serbian delegation in the PSSE, Biljana Pantić Pilja, confirmed for Tanjug that, in addition to Mirković, Filipovski and Efstatiou who voted against, 23 members of the Committee for Legal Affairs voted for, while one abstained.
At the same time, for the draft opinion on the membership of the so-called 30 members of the Committee for Equality and Non-Discrimination voted for Kosovo in the Council of Europe, four abstained, and two members of the Serbian delegation, Elvira Kovač and Jelena Milošević, voted against.
The PSSE announced earlier on the X social network that the Committee for Legal Affairs and Human Rights "unanimously supported the favorable report of the Committee for Political Affairs and Democracy and proposed several amendments to resolve key issues in Kosovo."
That announcement has since been deleted and a new one was published stating that the Board supported the report, but omitted the wording unanimously.
