Vučić and Macron in front of the Elysée Palace: "We counted on France the most" VIDEO

The presidents of Serbia and France will speak in front of the Elysée Palace.

At the beginning, Macron emphasized that he feels great pleasure to have the opportunity to host Vučić.

"We have entered a new era. The European integration of Serbia is in our common interest. I am convinced that Serbia can play a strong role. Serbia must not doubt that its future is in the European Union. For me, EU integration comes from common pasts and common values. We must move forward together so as not to miss this historic moment," Macron began.

He then spoke about the importance of establishing good relations between Belgrade and Pristina.

"I am aware of how difficult these compromises are. I want to reiterate how important it is to us that Bosnia-Herzegovina remains a united country. Serbia can also count on the support of the French Development Agency, which will continue to be your partner," he added and emphasized that the cooperation continues.

After Macron, President Vučić also spoke.

"I am proud to be in the Elysée Palace tonight and I have been preparing for a long time what to say in 5 minutes in a place like this in front of you, dear President. Today we are celebrating 185 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. We counted on France the most. There are few leaders in Europe who want to hear someone, especially when he comes from a smaller country. Macron wanted to listen and always listened, and I thank him for that," Vučić began.

He then added that more and more French investors are coming to Serbia.

"I came tonight to discuss all important issues. I have always been open. You said that both parties did something for Belgrade and Pristina, but unfortunately, that is not so. One party did nothing. That one party made elections with a turnout of 3.4 percent. There is no investigation against those who shot our children because they were carrying Christmas ornaments. The dinar issue is the issue of Serbian survival in Kosovo and Metohija. There was an agreement that the CSM must be fulfilled, which has not been moved from the starting point, and Serbia did a lot - from identity cards to license plates, Serbia fulfilled it all," said Vučić and thanked France for not wanting to "settle the accounts" with Serbia.

"Serbia has always respected the integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also the integrity of the Republic of Srpska," said Vučić.

"We trust you and you promised me some things and fulfilled them. You are a man of your word and I trust you immensely, and I will do my best to ensure that Serbia keeps its word in the future," concluded Vučić.
