Serbian police in action: New major arrest
In combating corruption, members of Ministry of Internal Affairs, Criminal Police Directorate, Anti-Corruption Department, on the order of the Special Department for Suppression of Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Nis, arrested V. V. (65)
The arrested V. V, who is an assistant to the mayor of Bor, was arrested on suspicion of having damaged the budget of the Bor city administration by 839,550 dinars by abusing his official position.
He is suspected of the criminal offense of abuse of office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.

It is suspected that he, as an assistant to the mayor of the city of Bor and the person in front of the Bor city administration in charge of monitoring the realization of the public procurement of waste containers, whose estimated value was 40,000,000 dinars, in the course of 2024, made a record of the handover of goods to the customer with false content.
In this way, V.V., as is suspected, confirmed that the supplier "Eastern office" DOO Majdanpek delivered the containers in accordance with the concluded contract, with a delay of 28 days, for which period interest was calculated and the reduction of the invoice was calculated according to which the City Administration made the payment, even though the ordered containers were delivered with a delay of 49 days in total, all with the intention of obtaining a benefit for the aforementioned company from Majdanpek.
As it is suspected, V.V. damaged the budget of the City Administration of Bor by 839,550 dinars in this way, which represents the sum of the uncalculated contractual default interest for another 21 days of delay, for which the invoice still had to be reduced.
The suspect was detained for up to 48 hours and he will be brought to the competent prosecutor's office with a criminal report.
